Established on May 18th, 2017, GAFCRA (GLOBAL Aid for Children in Rural Areas) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) headquartered in Tiko located in the South West region of Cameroon. GAFCRA was founded by a group of concerned individuals and professionals with a shared vision to improve the lives of children in rural areas, including those affected by conflict in the war-torn North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
Our vision is to create a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to a quality education and the support they need to thrive.
GAFCRA is committed to providing assistance, care, and education to children in rural and conflict-affected areas of Cameroon. Our holistic approach focuses on enhancing the well-being of these children by providing compassionate accessibility and support. We utilize trauma-informed care and strength-based strategies to help children overcome trauma and access essential resources.
Village Community Centers: Establishing centers in rural and conflict-affected areas to provide educational, social, and cultural activities for children and communities.
Living Values Education Program (LVEP): Promoting positive values and resilience among children impacted by conflict.
Physical Education Project: Offering high-quality health and physical education programs to enhance the well-being of children affected by conflict.
Trauma-Informed Care: Providing compassionate support and resources to help children overcome trauma and build resilience.
ICT Program for Rural Kids: Equipping children in rural and conflict-affected areas with essential digital skills through ICT hubs.
“Protect the Girl Child” Project: Ensuring the rights and education of girls, including those affected by conflict and displacement.
Economic Empowerment Program: Supporting parents and caregivers in conflict-affected areas through training and economic opportunities.
After School Program: Offering supplementary education and support to children, including trauma-informed care and academic assistance.
